“Goodbye Summer”
Goodbye Summer, for you have left me,
No more laughing with my friends under a tree,
I can still sip on ice tea although it’s not in season,
The used to be green leaves will soon become weazen,
But before the leaves go they turn into colors like fire,
My sister telling me that I can go outside later, but she a liar,
The crisp cool air against my hair makes me grin,
Sprinting up the bryn that is in my back yard,
The crunching leaves beneath my feet make me feel at home.
“The Pumpkin Patch”
The dead brown leaves, crunch crunch crunching beneath my feet,
Losing my friend in the corn field wondering where we will meet,
Once we find each other, we walk towards the trail,
Children playing with toy boats, we watch as they sail,
Picking out pumpkins to paint,
My friend picks out one so perfins I almost faint,
Looking over I can see eggs that will hatch,
Then back to my reality, I realize I’m in the pumpkin patch.
“Bumps In the Night”
Creeping in in my house, is something there?
I walk down the stairs and realize it’s my sister’s pet hare!
Seeing shadows outside the window,
I know that I probably shouldn’t, but there I go,
Out the door into the deep dark night.
In the ally I am greeted with a fright,
Witches on broomsticks and black cats are seen,
When my fear disappears, I’ll know it’s Halloween.
