Goodbye Saint Brendan School, how I’ll miss you.
Goodbye library, I will never forget the lore you showed, and the lore you kept.
Goodbye lunchroom, and your lovely noise.
Goodbye gym, how it was fun, to play dodgeball indoors, instead of being in the sun.
Goodbye Gavan Hall, I’ll miss thee, even though I was only with you for years of three.
Goodbye playground, for I’ll always remember the games that always went awry.
Goodbye kickball, I’ll never forget the base running and how tired I get.
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s, there was so much to say farewell to.
Sadly I have so little time to say it. So here it is, my adieu to you:
GOODBYE SAINT BRENDAN SCHOOL!
-Isaac
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s,
Goodbye to going to church everyday.
Goodbye to all the friends I have made, even though I’ll see you in high school.
Goodbye to all the other grades,
Goodbye.
-Moss
Laughing of children I hear,
I have spent my whole life here.
Many mornings I know what to wear,
In art we make ware.
I also can’t wait to leave here.
-Gavin
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s now I can stay home and pet my kitten,
Goodbye recess and running I do but now I can stay home and play Wii-U,
Goodbye fellow classmates bye to the ones that don’t like me but now I am free.
-Charles
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s through the halls,
from the clocks ticking and the bell ringing.
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s from teacher to teacher.
Goodbye to the squirrel stuck on the mouse trap that Mr. Puester smashed.
Goodbye to the lunch ladies telling us to be quiet.
Goodbye to the friends seen through the halls,
Goodbye to science, math, English, and writing,
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s from class to class forever and ever.
Saint Brendan School will be missed.
-Korbyn
It is the last year, the last day before we leave.
We shall say goodbye, some with happiness, some with sorrow.
Goodbye, library, and your memories of books, some adventures, some just a good bedtime story.
Goodbye middle school and elementary classrooms, you’ve taught more than you will ever guess.
Goodbye, gym, the activities you had brought ceaseless hours of fun.
Others may leave you with happiness, but I leave with happiness and sorrow.
Goodbye, familiar halls, I will have to navigate the unfamiliar terrain of the high school.
Wistfulness will be a familiar friend.
I must leave so I may grow,
So goodbye, St.Brendan’s School.
-Maria
As I run though the final bell I see the office I’ve come in late in
As I walk down I see the library
I smell the old books from many hands of reading.
I run down the hall seeing the work all the kids have done.
As I pass the kindergarten room,
I feel the warmth of the room and never the cold
As I run down the stairs I smell the basement’s smell seeping through the walls.
I run down the ramp I smell the smell of pizza cooking in the oven.
Running to the lunch table,
During lunch talking about days left,
Throwing away trays saying thank you and no thank you.
As packing up for the day we say
“ Goodbye math, goodbye English, goodbye science, goodbye p.e, goodbye uniforms,
Goodbye good school lunch, goodbye kids running to give hugs, goodbye teachers, goodbye Saint Brendan’s.”
-Makinley
It is sad to go, but we must go and show God to everyone.
The next step is high school!
We all must go, for you will soon go too.
Like snow we come and we go but then we come back.
We might see you again or not, we won’t know,
maybe in the park or in March.
I will remember your smiles even from a mile.
In the next year you will grow even if it does not show.
Just remember this: there’s always time to have the ease of mind.
Even when mad,
even when sad,
have an ease of mind,
all the time.
-Max
Goodbye Saint Brendan’s prayer families,
From the bells ringing obnoxiously and the clocks ticking fast,
Through the halls we ran to be on time for our next class.
Goodbye teachers, and lunch ladies telling us to be quiet.
Goodbye green and Khakis uniforms, and the long list of dress code.
Goodbye math, goodbye English, goodbye science, goodbye p.e, goodbye s.s.
Goodbye to St.Brendan’s, or our home away from home for ever and ever.
Saint Brendan’s will be missed.
-Sammie
This is our familiar place,
Our whole lives we have always had a home away from home,
a place where we never felt alone.
These people are not just friends, but family.
We have so many good memories
Although it has never been perfect,
We still have a reason to praise and worship.
Our home away from home, and a place to call our own.
