This veterans day, Saint Brendan’s middle school went to the veterans home and sang to the veterans. Veterans day is very important because it gives recognition to those who risked their lives in war and fought for our country.It was a great opportunity to show our thankfulness.
In November 1919 President Wilson proclaimed that November 11 was going to be a holiday to celebrate those who have fought for our Country
Here is what some of us thought about the event:
“My name is Alex, I thought going to the Veterans home was boring. Though I do wish I could go back next year so I can get out of school. Though I appreciated the Veterans and thanked them for the services they did.”
“My name is Caroline and I thought that all this singing made me light headed, and tired. I liked seeing the veterans though, and one of the songs keeps getting stuck in my head.”
“My name is Rylee and I thought that it was nice to get out of school for a little while and when we came back to school we got popsicles.”
