Softball: Kirksville vs. Mexico

On Monday, October 3, 2022 Kirksville played Mexico in softball, the A team won 7-6 

And B team lost 7-3. In that game Payton Shaw hit a home run, in fact it was the first home run for a middle school girl to hit on that field. 

The A team was losing by two at first, then Payton had hit the home run and got an RBI, and a home run.  Isabelle hit it down the right field foul line, but it was still fair, and she got a home run, even though she did not hit it over the fence. In the first half of the first inning a player on the other team had slid into third, but Payton Shaw had tagged her out, her helmet fell off, and she lay there for like ten minutes. 

The B team started out with Emma Troy pitching, she walked a couple, but then out of nowhere she started striking out a whole bunch of people.  Although later in the game we had to switch Kaitlyn Krietmeyer into pitcher, because Emma’s arm hurt. B team only had a couple runs. The B team ended with 7-3.
