Last House Competition of the Year

On April 27 the last competition for the year was planned by Mrs. Kilgore the Eligius teacher. Mrs. Kilgore planned the various activities, students from each house had the chance to donate personal care products to the Help Center, then there was a relay race, word search, puzzles and names. 

The first competition was each student brought in various personal care products to be donated to the Help Center. The students had a week to bring these items in and each house selected two of the lower classes to help donate. Seton had the Parish and 4 year old preschool, Anthony had Kindergarten and second grade, Eligius had 4th and 3rd grade, and Bridget had 1st and 3 year old preschool. Seton won first for this competition with total points of 550, second place was Bridget with the total points of 316, third Eligius had 308 points and coming last was Anthony with 183 points. 

The second competition was a relay race. In this activity each student in their respective house had to run down the court in the gym and answer a question and then run back to their team. Some of the various questions were; Who won the Superbowl? What is the actual name of the Help Center? What year was the Help Center built? The house that answered the most questions correctly won. Coming in first was Eligius, second was Bridget, third was Anthony, and last was Seton. 

The third competition was names . This was the eighth graders last house competition so each eighth grader from each house was chosen to name the names. In seton Payton Shaw was chosen, in Bridget was Landon Kendrick, in Anthony was Rebecca Stanford, and in Eligius was Eric Shellabarger. Winning this competition was Seton in first place, Eligius winning second, Bridget winning third place, and Anthony in last place.

The ending results ended in a tie for first place was Seton and Eligius. To break this tie breaker Mr. Puester the head of Bridget house looked up random names. The first question was answered correctly by Eric and Payton. The second question; How many times was Ross in Friends married and divorced? Eric got the clutch and took the win. Eligius won first, Seton second, Bridget third, and Anthony last.
