Aces Fastpitch Softball
I play softball all seasons of the year. I have been playing since I was in preschool I love this sport because of all the friends and all the different states and cities I see going to different softball tournaments. I play on Aces Fastpitch. I used to play on Galaxy Fastpitch both out of Columbia both teams the main coach or director is Taylor Bartlett he has taken many softball teams to the World Series. Aces Fastpitch is a travel 12u softball team but also goes from 10u, 12u, 14u, 16u and 18u Softball they are a purple, white, and black team there is a Kansas City Aces team and a team also that started in Kansas city and now practices in Columbia which is the Softball team I am on. We practice on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and Sundays when we don’t have a tournament the time on Sundays is 7-9 am at Prairie Home which is past Columbia which means I have to get up at 5 in the morning and I am definitely not a morning person even in the mornings for school let alone 5 in the morning for softball practice. On Tuesday, Wednesdays and Thursdays we practice from 6-8 or 9 depending on the day which is better for me because I’m not a morning person, I’m definitely a night person. All my teammates are from different areas such as Columbia, Mexico, Centralia, Hallsville, and some other areas. I play pitcher and 3rd base mostly but I can play anywhere in the field including catcher. These last two weekends we have scrimmaged a Galaxy team and a Galaxy elite team we beat both. This weekend March 8-10 we have a tournament in Oklahoma. I’m leaving tomorrow March 8th and it is a 7 and a half hour drive down there. My whole team is staying in a hotel together and we’re gonna swim after games and eat together at night. We also are going to play Pickleball because we had a deal with our coaches that if we won the scrimmages then we could play a pickleball tournament while we were in Oklahoma. In Oklahoma we will have two subs who are people from another softball team mostly Galaxy girls because that’s like our sister team because we both have the same director Taylor Bartlett so we sub for Galaxy teams and they sub for Aces teams. I will be taking one of our subs down there because me and her, a girl from Galaxy Elite, are really close because we used to play with each other on Galaxy. Most of the Aces and Galaxy girls are really close because most of us have played together unless they’re new which they normally still build a bond with because we practice together sometimes and sometimes we hangout and we’re just around each other a lot in general.
Oklahoma Tournament
Oklahoma this past weekend we placed 3rd. It was a long weekend. We lost most of our games but we were playing older teams. We are a first year 12u team and all of the teams we played were a 2nd year 12u team. We won the game before we lost. We went home for the game before the championship but that’s okay.
Illinois Tournament
Our next tournament was at Illinois we won almost all of our games. I think we lost two and one of them was the championship game. We placed second in this tournament. We played a hard championship game but unfortunately it just didn’t work.
Home Tournament or Columbia Tournament
We then went to Columbia’s home fields and got second in the championship. We played against a 14u team and we lost. They were really really good. The tournament overall was good though other than I was really really sick the whole time but there wasn’t enough players for me to stop.
The next weekend we went to Cape Girardeau and we didn’t do very well. We won all of our games the first day then the second day we lost all of our games but two the second.
The next week we were gonna take off the next weekend so I was gonna sub for my old catchers team which is a 18u team but since I’m on Aces I had to ask my coaches before and they wanted me to sub for a galaxy or older Aces team so I just ended up not subbing for anyone because I didn’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings because they all wanted me to sub and they were all girls that I used to play with on another team. So instead I just hung out with my cousin and Korbyn most of the weekend. My team ended up playing that weekend at Lake of the Ozarks and they ended up getting second place in that tournament also. Next weekend we play in Columbia again hopefully we can get first this time instead of second or just not doing good at all.
